The Union of Parishes is dependent for most of its income on donations to pay its expenses. Making a regular financial contribution to the work of the church is not only a Christian act but a very practical way of demonstrating your commitment and support. The options below enables you to make donations. We appreciate your support, be it big or small.
Online – As outlined above just click the donate button and follow the on screen instructions to donate.
Standing Order – You can set up a standing order to instruct your bank to make your donation. This can be for a monthly, quarterly, or annual donation. The pdf form below shows our relevant bank details. Alternatively, you can set up a standing order using internet banking. If you would still like a token envelope to put in the collection plate, please let us know so we can provide that for you.
Annual Contribution – As stated above this can be done by standing order. Alternatively, you might prefer to send a cheque payable to The Tullamore Union of Parishes to The Parish Treasurer, c/o The Treasurer, Charleville Centre, Church Avenue, Tullamore, Co Offaly.
Envelope Scheme - This allows you to put in variable cash donations weekly during the year. You sign up to take a numbered envelope and you get 52 envelopes with this number on and you put in each week what you wish to contribute. These are tallied under your number and receipted at the end of the year.
Legacy Giving - Leaving a gift in your Will is a way of showing you care and want to help. After showing you care for your family and friends, consider helping the Parish and the people it serves by leaving a lasting gift in your will. It does not have to be a large sum to make a difference, please contact the rector or your solicitor for advice.
The Parish accounts are presented annually at the Easter General Vestry (parish A.G.M.). All donations are treated with the utmost confidentiality.
We can claim tax back on cheques, on line, standing orders and envelope scheme contributions of €250 or more per year from individuals (PAYE and Self-Assessed) – this adds an average of 33% to the total giving at no cost to you. Unfortunately, we cannot claim tax on loose contributions into the collection plate. You will be asked to complete a CHY3 form which enables us to process this.
If you have any questions or requests for advice The Rector will be happy to assist or to direct your question to a member of the Select Vestry with the relevant knowledge.
